Dear Members,
Hello from the north. I am Dr Manas Guha, an ENT surgeon based in the princely town of Coochbehar. I feel greatly honoured to be the president of our august association. I pledge to serve the family of otorhinolaryngologists in West Bengal with my utmost sincerity and love during my tenure. I am already empowered immensely by my team of selfless and lion-hearted executive committee of our association. I have a deep desire to take our association to new and unprecedented heights.
After the COVID 19 pandemic which shook us to the core, we have emerged victorious due to our grit and perseverance. Many things have changed for good, and we are still adapting the “new normal”. But life has rolled back to pre-pandemic conditions by and large. We are back to having physical conferences like before. Our conferences are a dazzling milieu of academic and cultural extravaganza. I have firm belief that our association will take our annual conference to the peak of academic and cultural brilliance in the years to come.
This year, due to long standing desire in our hearts, we have started satellite surgical workshops in different towns and cities of West Bengal. Our beloved surgeons who have world class surgical skills are able to showcase their talent in such forums. Since we treat our association as a family, we are also organizing sports events like football and cricket matches, cultural events like Bijoya Sammelani which keep our ever- busy members rejuvenated with youthful energy. Our journal has also excelled in recent years and is now quite a force to reckon with.
Having taken the helm of such a fantastic ship, it is my foremost responsibility to live up to the sky-high expectations. With due support from my champion team, I am very confident that I will fulfil these expectations. I seek the blessings of my illustrated seniors and the love and support of all our members and their families.
Long live our beloved Association.
Long live AOI West Bengal.
Dr Manas Guha
President
